When you add a task from an email in Double, you’re linking the email to the task.

Creating a task from the Inbox
Clicking "+ Add task" at the top right of the email will prompt the task creation modal.
Email tasks
When creating a task from an email:
The linked email appears at the bottom of the task creation modal.
Clicking it opens the full email view, without leaving the task flow.
You’ll now see a visual “linked email” pill
The task itself (once created)
Any task view where that email connection is relevant
This makes it easier to reference the original email without digging through your inbox.

One-Time "+ Add task" message
The first time you click “Add Task” on an email, you’ll see a quick message explaining what’s happening behind the scenes:
The email is now linked to your task.
Attachments remain accessible via the linked email.
You don’t need to download and re-upload files.
After this, the modal won’t appear again.
