The Client Portal Mobile App

Updated over a month ago

The Client Portal Mobile App

Double's Client Portal is available as an app on both iOS and Android. Clients can do everything in the mobile app that they can on the web version of the portal.

The app is especially helpful for making it easy for clients to answer questions on the go or upload receipts as soon as they get them.

To download it, use the following links: iOS download link, Android download link.

Inviting clients to download the Mobile App

Clients can download and start using the mobile app as soon as they have the link, provided they have been added as a Contact.

Helpful templates are available to make it easy to invite all contacts to access the portal. These templates can be used with the email blast feature to quickly notify clients about the new app.

Enabling instant notifications on the mobile app

Clients can receive real-time push notifications on their mobile device the moment questions have been added to the portal.

Client portal contacts can configure their preferred notification settings from within the app's Menu → Settings.

  • Messages & replies

    • Notifications for any bookkeeper questions and replies that are sent through the portal.

    • This includes transaction & non-transaction questions, as well as bookkeeper responses to "Questions for us" (when enabled).

    • Message reply notifications will be batched every 15 minutes into a single notification.

  • Organizer requests

  • Reminder digests

    • Notification is sent at the same cadence of automated reminder emails (when enabled for the client)

    • Push notifications will show a “You have X outstanding questions in your Client Portal” message

    • See the schedule under Practice Settings > Client Portal > Reminders

FAQs

What does the sign in process look like on the app?

Once the client contact has downloaded the mobile app, the sign in steps are very similar to the browser process.

Via Magic Link

  • Enter their contact email

  • Select Sign in with Email

  • From their email inbox, use the Login to Portal link

This magic link will keep the contact signed into the app until they choose to log out.

I am an accountant / bookkeeper. Why can't I login to the mobile app?

Since the mobile app is intended for clients, only Contacts can log in (similar to how only Contacts can access the web portal). To log in and test the portal, simply add yourself as a Contact for any client.
