The Executive Summary

Single page high-level look at client financials

The Executive Summary provides clients with a high-level, single-page overview of their financials.

The Executive Summary includes:

  • Summary Note: A 2–3 sentence summary that provides high-level commentary for clients.

  • AI Summary Note: Available to Plus subscribers.

  • P&L Comparison: A comparison of the Profit and Loss against prior periods, with aggregation configurable on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.

  • Key Metrics: Highlighted KPIs and Balance Sheet values of interest.

  • Profit and Loss Bar Chart: A visual metric showing how the current year compares to the prior year.

Configuring the Executive Summary

Configure the Executive Summary by going to the Reporting tab on the client close page.

  • Choose to Add Summary Note

  • Configure Comparison Settings

  • Configure Bar chart visuals & Manage key metrics

Now available for customers on our Plus tier, this feature drafts a high-level narrative based on your client’s last 12 months of financials, including vendor-level spend and year-over-year comparisons. It’s the easiest way to add thoughtful analysis and a personal touch to your monthly reporting.

  • Gives you flexible prompt options (professional or casual) that you can edit or customize per client

Where to find the AI Executive Summary notes

  • Go to your Reporting tab

  • Select Executive Summary

  • Select Summary note

  • Click on 'Draft with AI'

From the AI summary draft, save, and browse practice-wide prompts:

Add a new prompt by selecting Browse prompts > Add prompt


Adding and Removing the Executive Summary

To hide the Executive Summary from the reporting package, select the three dots (...) to the right of the report title and choose Delete.

To re-add the Executive Summary page to the management reporting package, select + Add Report on the left side panel.
